Time to go!

By | May 22, 2017

It is Monday evening.  Our crew have arrived and after a 3.30 am start they are both in bed.  I am taking a moment to catch up on emails, texts and a few phone calls while we still have internet coverage.  And of course, complete one last post before we head out to sea.

The day we thought we had planned as relatively “free” of tasks, seemed to disappear.  Our crew flew in at 8 am, our Border Force check out was at 9.30 am, followed by a departure briefing with the Rally at 12.30 pm and in between these meetings Neville ran through the whys and wherefores of our boat with our crew.  His voice is sounding rather hoarse.  Then it was time to leave the marina.  Where did the day go?

We are anchored near the seaway ready for a 6 am start to the day.  We will cross the seaway at 7 am tomorrow, slack tide, with 20 other Go East Rally boats.  Hopefully someone will catch this on camera.

It has been a long few weeks preparing and planning for tomorrow but a big adventure for us and one I’m sure we will enjoy.  We are travelling with some great people, new friends as well as ‘old’ ones.  John has done a great job with his organisation of this Go East Rally and we thank him for all his hard work.

Thank you to all the well wishers too!
