15 days in …
What a wild ride! The pace is fast and furious. Tom left for Mackay today as the kit is substantially finished and the fitout begins. Already we have installed fibreglass moulded modules for the forward and rear bathrooms, one of the forward bedrooms and a few other bits and pieces. The centre roof section has been permanently fitted but the other two sections of roof get in the way of some of the furniture fitting so the complete bonded roof is a few days away. Meanwhile we will install a tin roof on the gantry to provide some additional shelter. Both holding tanks are in and the chainplates are not far away. The forebeam has been trial fitted and removed again (such a pity) to allow clear space for the fairing of nosecones. Lots of little jobs can now be looked at including some final structural glassing of the deck, the whole steering system, and then on to the plumbing. The furniture container is emptying quickly and that has to be a good thing ….. just one or two thousand hours of grinding to go!
